Bus Travel
Travel to Baltimore by bus is easy and convenient. Passengers can arrive at the downtown bus terminal or at the Baltimore Travel Plaza just off I–95; the plaza has long-term parking and local bus service to downtown and other destinations. Greyhound Lines has scheduled daily service to and from major cities in the United States and Canada. Peter Pan Bus Lines offers slightly nicer (more leisurely) travel to many destinations in the Northeast, including Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston.
The Charm City Circulator is a free ferry and four-line bus service that goes to major attractions and destinations in the downtown area.
Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) buses provide an inexpensive way to see much of Baltimore beyond the Circulator routes, though you may have to transfer several times. Route and schedule information is available by contacting the Maryland Transit Administration (www.mtamaryland.com).
Bus and transit schedules are sometimes available inside the Charles Center metro station (Charles and Baltimore streets downtown). The fare is $1.60 (exact change is required). All-day passes are $3.50 and can be used with light-rail or metro travel. Some routes have service 24 hours daily.
